Buoys and Safety

we manage the buoys!

GCOLA provides information and resources to keep activities on the Gull Lake Chain safe for those who enjoy our lakes year around.   This ranges from safe boating, swimming and fishing in the summer months to safe snowmobiling, ice-fishing and other winter activities on or near the lakes.

What We Do

We actively support and organize a number of programs to improve safety.

  • Fund and coordinate the installation and maintenance of the extensive buoy system on the lakes.
No-Wake

  • Provide watercraft safety brochures.
  • Work with local law enforcement to provide boat safety training for youth.
  • Educate members on ice sport safety and provide funding for lighted snowmobile trails.
Boat Safety Class
  • Manage the successful adopt-a-buoy program.
